What is culture about? I think culture is made by a group of people’s behavior, same language, similar appearances and dresses. By these points, we can easily have a general idea about a society or a culture; as for every culture has its unique way to let their population live, I suggest that people need to learn how to respect other cultures and try to enjoy what these cultures could bring you a new vision of the world. There are two examples to support my opinions.
The first one is when we are going to travel to other countries. Nowadays, traveling has been a popular activity that most of the people will choose to do to have fun and relax or maybe they travel because of business needs. To this point, we may have more chances to be able to meet more people all over the world, and there is a saying goes “do as what Rome’s do”, this means when we are in a new environment or a society, we’d better learn to live in their ways. For example, western culture has a lot differences than eastern cultures. Take Chinese cultures for example, in Chinese families, when we are invited to go to other people’s houses, we tend to bring some fruit or food for the host because we think it is the way we show our gratitude to them and thanks for the invitation. And if we didn’t bring anything, we will be considered impolite. Furthermore, this is what we called a society custom.
Another example is about dress code. In the Middle East countries, such as U.A.E,, Saudi Arabia or Afghan and so on, women there are all being demanded to wear a scarf around their neck and cover their hairs. I have a friend from U.A.E. who is always wear a scarf on her head. Because I have been curious about her hair for a long time, one day, I asked her if she could put down her scarf and let me see what her hair color and hair style look like, but she said no. She explained to me it is because their culture; the Middle East women can only let their husbands to see their hairs and they are not allowed to let other people see them. That was the time I realized that why the Middle East culture are somehow more conservative than any other societies in the world.
In conclusion, we already have a brief idea why we should learn and respect other cultures. Learn more from other people’s behaviors, dresses, language and activities can help us to keep away from some embarrassing moment and help us to get along with other people from all over the world.

Nowadays most of the public tend to write a virtual e-mail or e-card on the computers then send a real letter or card through local post offices. Another point of communicational difference is people can use on-line chatting programs to talk to more people at one time. People installed these instant on-line chatting programs such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL, Skype and so on, so they could use them to communicate with their friends and not just one by one as old days. In the past, people could only use telephones to talk to a friend one time but now through these programs, they were not able to have a small group of meeting or discussion on-line together. That is why the general populace consider internet chatting are more suitable for them.
The second change is new business models have been created. Take the advertisements for example, ten years ago, if you were looking for a place to live, a car to buy, a place to eat or find a job, people usually look for the advertised pages on the newspaper or some kind of paper advertisements you got from your mailbox. The advertising was very simple and dull, which caused people to take a long time to find what they need; it felt like looking for a needle in a haystack. And now, we have a more sufficient way which could save us more time and to sift the exact information we want. Another main point is online shopping. It is the electronic mall with commercial videos, colorful pictures. The statistic on Virtual Marketing Blog shows that there are 71% of line shoppers they will browse variety online stores to make a purchase, and 53% of online shoppers like to survey discounts or exclusive offers for members as the most valuable of Frequent Buyer/Loyalty Programs. Besides that, online shopping has been risen 29% in 2006 to over $146 billion. (Virtual Marketing Blog, screen 1) As you can see through the statistic, the reason that online shopping consumers has increased a lot is because the Internet provides them a fully access and a less expensive of marketing a service or product. The last incredible innovation of the Internet is to get worldwide information instantly. In the past, when there’s the time without the Internet, how did older population get news at that time? There are tree main ways we are familiar with, one is TV, another is newspaper, and the other one is radio. Even they could use these ways to absorb the information but there is still a disadvantage part, which is time difference. It was hard for people to know what’s the other side of the word was going on at the same time. But things have been changed recently, with the Internet; people nowadays have multi-media options to have access to receive global information includes news, music, TV shows, and anything you want to know in a fast way. That is to say, the Internet has changed the way we stay informed and entertained.
According to the Internet World States, as of June 10th, 2007 1.133 billion people use the Internet. (Steven Cancel, par.4) And the number of the Internet users are still continuing increase nowadays. The Internet makes everything possible in virtue of its which are complex of online communication, Internet marketing and diversity ways of getting informed through network. Broderick Booth Goran pointed out “the Internet is such an incredible invention because it not only simplified everyday tasks, but it also transformed the lifestyle of an entire culture. People can now shop, research, work, and learn faster than ever before.” (Broderick Booth Goran, par.4)

The best preparation of Life

What is the most important thing about learning for the best preparation of life? Is it right that people have to learn to be competitive or maybe to be cooperative? Some people consider that learn to be competitive can give themselves more opportunities to become achievement faster than other people; on the other hand, some other people think being competitive will be concerned themselves are not easy to get along with and they will prefer to learn to be more cooperative rather than being competitive. In this case, I will go with learn to be cooperative instead of being competitive for the best preparation of life.
When we were in schools or working, some of assignments required a team work to accomplish, and this was the time people would understand how important for people to learn to be cooperative than competitive. The word “Team Work” is very obvious to understand and tells us it is a group job, which means we need to work with other people. In this situation, we may have to work with the people we don’t like or maybe people who only insists his or her ideas. So how do we solve the conflict in a group discussion? Being competitive is not going to help but only make things even worse. In another words, it is the time to use our cooperative personality and being patient and open-minded to other people’s opinions and combine with others.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that people learn to be cooperative is the best preparation for life or a career then learn to be competitive. Being cooperative can give you happiness if you get along or work well with other people. People are not meant to live by themselves, so learn to be cooperative can provide the self satisfaction for yourself and provide you a better chance to pursued a better lives.

According to the result of the survey “The Internet’s Impact on Business Productivity and Individual Work Habits” shows that most of the respondents use the Internet for a variety of business tasks, and only 13 percent of them prevent or disapprove of the Internet use in their companies. I think this is the interesting part of the result that even the Internet has become ordinary technology nowadays, but there are still some businesses, which abandon web use during work. Does it mean that these companies are just showing that their employees don’t need to use the Internet and still can do their job well or maybe it is because these bosses feel that some of their employees? On the contrary, 68 percent of the survey shows that these companies gain business profit from the Internet. So this makes me wonder what the real reason is for 13 percent of businesses don’t collaborate with the web. Are they really running the companies without any network or intranet help?

Human Activities Make the Earth Even Worse to Live

Many people think that human activities have damage or hurt the Earth so much in this modern society, and some people consider these human activities only bring people a better place to live. In this point, I am completely agree with human activities have damage the Earth too much. The development countries are trying to expand their industry places as large as possible and they try to add more technical facilities in their societies as much as they can do. Their purpose is to make their country a better and modern place for people to live but they ignore the side effects of these human activities bring to the Earth. There are two main seriously damages that the Earth already had.
First one is global warning issue. Global warning problem has become more and more popular in the past few years. There’re many scientists trying to find a way to slow down or even stop this horrible damage to the Earth, but it’s hard to make it because of the developing industries. The global warning has caused the icebergs melting so fast and a lot in every year. This change makes the polar bears has rare place to live and also no fish to catch, furthermore, they died because of hungry and cold weather.
Another serious damage is all kinds of environmental pollutions. These pollutions include such as air, water, noise and so on, and these all because of human activities which are being over-developed. Take air pollution for example, there are more and more new born children have breath and noses care problems based on it. They have to take medicines when they were little and their parents are dying to find a better and health place to live just because of the air pollution.
In conclusion, I believe that human activities not only broke the balance between nature and human society but also make the Earth a worse place to live. The Earth has already being harmed by what we called human development and the governments and companies should take responsibilities to make the Earth become a more health and safe place for populations to live.

Why are there so many dangerous sports or activities in the world that still attracted to some people to do or maybe just watch? To my point of view, I think the biggest reason of it because they are pursuing the excitement that these kinds of activities could provide to them physically or mentally. And what are dangerous sports and activities? Such as boxing, bump jumping, racing cars and so on. There are two main aspects that why do they choose to does these dangerous activities rather than normal sports.
First of all, they want to have the feeling of excitement. Whether you are doing these dangerous sports or maybe just watch it, these things can always make their heartbeat fast and feeling so high, like they are taking drugs or something. For example, when you are doing a car racing, the racers will feel their bodies and minds goes up and down during the racing and feel really exciting, nervous and anxious about it. And most of them are pretty enjoy what they are doing. Few of them maybe do these for the money or as a career but I think if a person who choose to do this dangerous sport without a willing then he or she may probably just choose to do something else.
The other point of why some people are attracted to these dangerous sports is that it is a way to make them to reduce stress from work, family, friends or society pressures. Sometimes, they need to do something really exciting to make them feel better and forget those unhappy things happened to them in their lives. For example, people will go to some fighting or boxing clubs to fight with someone they don’t know and try to release their stress to others. And this is really dangerous because they might get hurt in the game but they still don’t mind.
In conclusion, pursuing the feeling of excitement and reducing the stress are the mainly reason why some people are attracted to dangerous sport or activities. When they are doing these kinds of sports, I’m sure that they are all have the idea in their mind of how dangerous these activities could be or they might get hurt somehow. The Importance of Groups and Organizations in Our Lives

Nowadays, there are more and more kinds of groups and organization in our society. Some of them are trying to help those people who are in need; some of them are for business or governmental purposes. And the rest of them are for public services. These groups and organizations are all related to people but in different ways. In my point of view, I agree the statement that groups or organizations play an important role in our every day lives.

But why are they so important in our every day lives? For an example, The Red Cross is an big organization and they do a lot of things to help people who need help such as gathering donators’ blood and provide them to the hospital, helping people from the country where has a serious earthquake or tsunami and rebuilt their houses back, or provide medical help in some developing and war fighting countries. And people could see that how important that an well-organized group could do for us.

In conclusion, I think groups and organizations play a really important role in our daily lives. Even though, I still believe that some people might doubt it because they don’t feel they are part of some groups or organizations. And they should think about can they really live without a group or organization’s help or maybe they are already being helped by them but they just don’t know yet.

Things to Do In an Unexpected Week Off

Having an unexpected week off seems like a dream to most of the people. And what do they think about it when they could have one week off? Most of the people consider having a trip to travel to some cities or countries they’ve been seeking to go. One of the reasons why they want to go there because these places are somewhere they’ve been planning on to go for a while but don’t really have time to due to their jobs or schools. The other reasons why they want to go because of they have family or friends who live there and they want to use this unexpected week to visit them. Besides of having a trip, a few people choose to stay at home and take some rest or maybe go out for a movie to relax their body and minds. These people might not want to go somewhere far away from home but just to be with their loved ones and do something together that they probably don’t have time to spend with before. There’re no certain answers to how do you want to spend your unexpected time, people are just trying to do something they want to do in this unexpected week to make themselves happy.
